with all great companies come great, deliciously sexy gossip. some of you beg to be in it, some of you beg to stay out of it, but as the time rolls around and i grow idle, you'll hear about every single scandal to walk through the front doors clad in last season's givenchy.

for messaging in between computers while at work or even at home. think of it as similar to aol instant messenger or the like, it's nothing more the a personal network mr. thomas had set up so his employees could speak to one another.. and those outside the company as well.

No New Posts cellular devices ,

use of cellphones is permitted for use during work hours, so long as personal calls don't cause an interruption and aren't a hassle for you to carry around. in fact, it's preferential that you do have a cellphone in case reaching you on your office number becomes a problem or someone needs to contact you outside of work.

No New Posts livejournal.com ,

for those of the more literary inclined brains, you can have your very own livejournal account. theoretically you can include pictures but please don't make it a photoalbum, that's more what the flickr is for. as for livejournal, well, it's a blog - you know, you post what your character did that day and how they felt about certain events that transpired during the course of their work day.

and here, ladies and gents, is where you can post your character relevant photos. make them a scrapbook of sorts, include funny captions and pictures from family reunions. give them friends, enemies, a life outside what you're writing.. if you want, of course.

No New Posts first floor ,

when you first walk into the thomas models building, you're in a lobby that's about the size of a decent warehouse - large and spacious, modern furniture for that overly intimidating feel that makes you want to turn around and walk right back out, and yet everyone inside is so very fashionable. even the receptionist will look you over and give you the frigid act if you're not wearing shit off the season's hottest racks. through a set of very, very cold looking metal doors are the offices where everything from arranging next week's shoots to editing photos and writing articles goes down.

when the fusion between the two largest names in the fashion industry occured, it was splashed across virtually every tabloid in every country... everywhere. so when the two fashion powerhouses shacked up, well... you can only say that suri thomas got an entire floor. everything related to the magazine from interns to shipments of clothes off the hottest runways goes to level two in the thomas models building.. and that means your ferragamo over the knee boots better be dressed to impress.

No New Posts third floor ,

all indoor photoshoots in relation to the models occurs on level three in the building. there are several studios as well as multiple darkrooms where each photographer who's working for the agency at the moment can develop their prints and a few places where those who prefer digital can edit their pictures via photoshop. everything related to photography goes on this floor and stays here.

No New Posts fourth floor ,

when vogue and thomas models joined, there was a huge dilemma - what do we do with all of the extra clothes? mr. thomas had a simple solution - we bring them in and devote an entire floor to the archive of what was in in virtually every time period. there are racks and racks by designer in the eighties section, the nineties, current time periods and everything is organized within those racks set up by designer by color. can you say ocd much? there's a system used to check out the outfits in the giant closet, but mostly the get ups are used for in-building photoshoots.

as your knees shake and those impeccably dressed interns titter behind their hands at your stupid socks, or those sharp-eyed recruiters glance over your profile with a well-trained visual, you'll know that this isn't even similar to the real world. this is where magic happens - this is where you'll be signed, deliberately placed higher to the top of the building so the wait is more nerve-wracking and, if everything goes as planned, your knees will definitely be shaking by the time you make it inside the sheer glass doors and get your polaroid taken.

No New Posts sixth floor ,

the sixth floor of the building has had any and all walls entirely knocked out, and now stands as it was built; bare brick walls line the exterior and pale wood goes for the flooring against the harsh light brought in by leaded glass windows. as a result, the room is left absolutely perfect for any and every event that either the magazine or the agency may need to hold. anything from fashion shows to conferences go down in here.

No New Posts roof level ,

the roof is he most beautiful part of the building - while the rest is decorated with sterile modern lines, the exterior is almost stuck in a time warp back to the 1800's of paris. a rooftop garden, romantic in it's deep red and pink blooms takes up an entire wall, extending about a quarter of the way in before it wraps around a corner and disappears from view over the edge of the building. wrought iron benches and tables line the roof so you can sit and watch the sun go down, and a brick wall about waist-height stands around the edges to prevent anyone from falling and create a beautiful photo vantage point.

No New Posts the moulin rouge ,

french for 'red mill', it is a cabaret built in 1889 by joseph oller, who also owned the paris olympia. close to montmartre in the paris red-light district of pigalle on boulevard de clichy in the 18th arrondissement, it is marked by the red windmill on its roof. best known as the birthplace of the can can, it now serves as a resturaunt with entertainment on the first floor, the basement holding an up beat and trendy night club where it is much like a speak easy-password, and cash, required to get past the large bouncers. the second floor is a quiet lounge that (as a new edition) actually leads to the roof where the guest may go through the actual new wind mill built and see a beautiful view of paris.

the eiffel tower is a 19th century iron lattice tower located on the champ de mars in paris that has become both a global icon of france and one of the most recognizable structures in the world. the eiffel tower, which is the tallest building in paris, is the single most visited paid monument in the world; millions of people ascend it every year. named after its designer, engineer gustave eiffel, the tower was built as the entrance arch for the 1889 world's fair. today, it is also known as an icon of romance, many people being proposed at the tallest access point of the structure.

No New Posts pompidou terrace ,

pompidou terrace was errected in the fifties in paris to serve as a place where starving artists and billionaire yuppies alike could thrive. each level as it's own outdoor garden, the size of the apartments varying so that on the first floor there may be fifteen and as you escalate the stairs, the number decreases. there are no elevators to preserve the oldworld quality, but most patrons don't mind, especially considering the beautiful masonry of the grand staircase.

No New Posts circlefleur avenue ,

circlefleur avenue was recently purchased, torn down and reconstructed as the largest strip of townhouses in paris. modern touches ring true just was well as the lush green lawns scream money. although the structures are just recently built, they're brownstone or graystone and have small areas where the owner can personalize their yard. the townhouses range from two to four bedrooms. just off to the side of the champs elysees, circlefleur avenue is townhouse after impeccably groomed townhouse... spacious, large and priced to fit those needs.

No New Posts ornement landing ,

ornement landing is probably the biggest scattering of huge houses you'll ever see in your life. on the outskirts of the city, the developer purchased a large hunk of land and then sold off lots to millionaires and their spawn, claiming it was better then the rest and for the most part, it was true. there's merely a five or six minute drive into paris itself. complete creative freedom was given to those that purchased land so what you'll see as you walk through the gardens is absolutely nothing but beautiful, ornate, modern, old-fashioned mansions.
